API (American Petroleum Institute)

API اصلی ترین استاندارد در طراحی و توسعه ی تجهیزات و عملیات مرتبط با حوزه ی نفت، گاز و پتروشیمی می باشد. این مجموعه استاندارد گستره ی وسیعی از ویژگی های مته های حفاری تا دستور العمل های محافظت زیست محیطی را در بر می گیرد. اگرچه این یک مجموعه استاندارد داخلی کشور ایالات متحده می باشد ولی بسیاری از مطالب آن توسط سازمان ISO و سایر کشور ها تائید و پیروی از آن الزامی می باشد.
